It was our absolute privilege to be selected as contractors to install new roofs and fire doors at the world famous Eton College.
The College was established in 1440 and is a blend of traditional and modern facilities, all of which require securing against the possibility of a fire breaking out and were in need of modernisation.
As established accredited fire door installers, our excellent reputation in Berkshire and beyond secured RP Carpentry the contract to carry out the installation of a raft of doors on the premises in Windsor.
We also replaced roof structures on a series of school buildings and carried out a range of internal carpentry work too as part of a £450,000 contract we secured thanks to our expertise and professionalism.
A team of seven skilled carpenters worked on this significant project for us.
Fire doors must be installed by certified fitters and we were delighted that those responsible for fire safety at the historic school chose to work with our experienced team on this project to fulfil their responsibilities under the Building Regulations.
As UKAS accredited installers we were able to provide Eton pupils and staff with professionally fitted doors meeting all UK fire safety standards.
We also installed a large number of non-fire doors in buildings across the site, plus all associated door ironmongery.
Our team also fitted external windows and screens as part of this extensive refurbishment project which involved modernising some very old buildings, making them fit for purpose for pupils in 2021.
Specific skills were required to restore some very old examples of carpentry on the site. Our carpenters’ attention to detail was highlighted for praise.
Shelving systems were fitted throughout the school to provide appropriate storage for books and equipment.
